THE SHORT VERSION

A transfer check,
from start to finish.

Parcel Desk helps you try an upload or download without creating an account or leaving a stored upload behind.

Check an upload

  1. Choose a file from your device, or drop it into the upload area. The current size limit is shown beside the file picker.
  2. Select Start upload. The progress bar shows bytes sent by your browser, along with the elapsed transfer's average speed.
  3. Wait for the server's receipt. A full progress bar alone does not mean the upload is complete.
  4. When the receipt arrives, you will see the number of bytes received. The uploaded data has been discarded.

Your original file stays on your device. This service does not store a copy, send it to another person, or create a download link for it.

Try a sample download

Choose the 10 MB, 100 MB, or 1 GB sample on the transfers page. Your browser downloads a .bin file containing generated test bytes. These are connection-test resources, not software or files uploaded by other visitors.

Sizes use decimal units: 1 MB is 1,000,000 bytes and 1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes. Downloads have a per-transfer speed limit, so they do not measure your connection's absolute maximum speed.

The download endpoint accepts partial requests. A compatible browser or download manager can resume from an offset without requesting the entire file again.

Cancel, retry, or wait

You can cancel an upload at any point. Uploads cannot resume because no partial file is kept; to retry, start again from the beginning.

If the server is busy, wait a moment and try again. Long transfers also have a time limit. If your connection drops or that limit is reached, the page will show an error instead of a completed receipt.

A note about privacy

A file still travels to this server during an upload test. Choose a non-sensitive file if you only want to check your connection. Read the privacy notes for what the service does and does not retain.
